Chris Hoffmann is a German drummer and educating artist graduate of Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim.
Chris began his musical studies at the jazz college of music in Mainz-Germany in 2011 and graduated in 2016. From there on he moved to Mannheim to pursue his master studies at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim where he graduated as an (M.A.) Educating Artist in 2019. His master thesis is entitled: “The Best Of Both Worlds! On the didactic potential of a New-Blended-Learning-Model” for learning-based online drum lessons.”
Over the years Chris has played on various studio productions and is the live drummer for various bands and artists. They received several awards, released their music on platforms and appeared on radio and tv. His artist roster includes Grammy Award Winner Carlos Nunez, Pierre M. Krause SWR Late Night Show, ClockClock, Mike Singer, Loi, Sven Garrecht, Moss Kena, Jesse Tellem and many more.
His artistic and educational reputation in digital learning environments gave him the opportunity to work at the highly acclaimed Popakademie Baden-Württemberg (University for Music Business, Creative Industries and Popular Music). He is the project manager of an AI-based educational research project. On the internet, his educational drum videos on the learning platform and the YouTube Channel “Art of Drumming” have more than 2 million views. The “Dresdner Drum and Bass Festival 2023” introduced him as one of the most up-and-coming drum educators of his generation.
Chris uses his patreon page https://www.patreon.com/chrishoffmann as a platform for his students and followers to experience interlocking learning environments of online lessons and lessons in-person. It contains pre-recorded educational drum videos, performance videos, behind the scenes material and community features.
He is a juror for the music competition “Jugend Musiziert” at state and federal level. In 2023, his first publication as a book author was published, the “Practice Journal For Musicians".
